In loving memory of Chris Joy. He was a real gentleman, a kind and loving husband, father, brother and uncle. He was a family man and loved spending time with his close and extended family. He lived in Shipham for over 45 years and made many great friends whom he shared many wonderful times.
He was a passionate sports fan, a massive Arsenal fan and made many special friends watching and supporting the club his father played for. Chris was also a true Corinthian, captaining and playing for the Corinthian Casuals over 400 times from the late 50s.
He also loved his tennis, whilst he had to give up playing in his later years due to dodgy knees and hips he was privileged to be a member of the All England Lawn Tennis Club and was a regular at the Championships each year. You'd always find him in the members enclosure on the biggest table entertaining his guests with funny stories (and wine!) and having missed the last few years due to covid and ill health he was determined to make it one last time and did so this year.
He is much loved and will always be remembered.
A service to celebrate Chris' life will be held at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church on Thursday 21st December 2023 at 11am. Followed by the Wake in the Church Hall.
Chris' family would love for you to wear something red & white please.
